On Christmas Eve, 1967, two young indigenous girls are forced to battle the elements and work together in order to return home to their families after a daring escape from a brutal residential school. Based on the experiences of actual survivors, the film tells a story of the resilience of indigenous youth, the power of friendship and the intergenerational impacts of the residential school system on indigenous peoples and communities.

Jouluaattona 1967 kaksi nuorta mohawk-tyttöä joutuu taistelemaan luonnonvoimia vastaan ja työskentelemään yhdessä päästäkseen kotiin perheidensä luo karattuaan väkivaltaisesta asuntolakoulusta. Koulusta selviytyneiden kokemuksiin perustuva elokuva on tarina alkuperäiskansojen nuorten sitkeydestä, ystävyyden voimasta ja sisäoppilaitosten vaikutuksesta alkuperäiskansoihin yhteisöihin.
